Named a Scholar-Baller for 2006-07 and 2007-08, posting at least a 3.0 GPA for those academic years ... Also had at least a 3.25 GPA for the Spring 2008 semester to earn Dean’s List honors.
Junior (2007): Started the first seven games of the season at both defensive tackle and nose tackle ... Played in 11 games, missing the Buffalo contest with an injury ... Saw limited action in the Bowling Green and Ohio games before playing a majority of the Miami game and starting the season finale versus Central Michigan ... For the year, had 18 tackles, including 12 solo stops ... Credited with two stops and a pass breakup in the season-opening win over Army ... Came up with a fumble recovery at Ohio State, one of five turnovers Akron’s defense forced ... Had two tackles and a forced fumble at Indiana ... Tallied three stops versus Temple and a career-high four tackles, all solo, at Miami.
Sophomore (2006): Played in all 12 contests ... Recorded nine tackles for the season ... Credited with two stops versus both Kent State and Cincinnati ... Logged single tackles versus North Carolina State, Toledo, Bowling Green, Buffalo and Western Michigan.
Freshman (2005): Appeared in six games as a reserve in the middle of the defensive line ... Recorded two tackles in the 35-3 win over Kent State, including one solo stop ... Also saw action versus Purdue, Middle Tennessee State, Northern Illinois (Sept. 24), Central Michigan and Miami ... One of six true freshmen to play during the Zips’ championship season ... Enrolled in January and participated in spring workouts.
Prior to Akron: Team was No. 1 in Maryland in both 2001 and 2003 ... Chosen first-team All-Washington Catholic Athletic Conference, all-county and all-state in 2003 ... Named to the Super 44 team ... Also played lacrosse and basketball ... Named to the 2003 George Michael Sports Machine Golden 11 ... Coached by Bill McGregor.
Personal: Originally signed a National Letter of Intent with Akron for the 2004 season, but did not enroll at UA until the spring of 2005.
