Junior (2006): Played in all 12 games, starting at cornerback in nine of those contests ... Ranked fifth on the team with 554 tackles, including five for losses ... Led the team, tying for third in the MAC and 11th in the NCAA, with 13 pass breakups ... Had at least one PBU in all but two games ... Was named MAC East Defensive Player of the Week in Akron’s win over Miami, collecting eight tackles (including seven solo stops) with a career-best four PBU in the contest ... Followed that with six tackles at Toledo ... Opened the season with four stops, including two for losses, and a pass breakup at Penn State ... Had three tackles, a fumble recovery and a PBU in UA’s win at North Carolina State ... Established a career-high with eight tackles at Kent State, adding his first career blocked field goal ... Contributed to wins over Bowling Green and Buffalo with a combined 10 tackles, a TFL and a PBU.
Sophomore (2005): Appeared in all 13 games, starting the final nine games at cornerback ... Second on the team in pass break-ups with six ... Totaled 41 tackles, 29 of which were solo efforts ... Had a fumble recovery in the Zips’ 13-7 win at Buffalo .... Forced fumbles in the season opener at Purdue and in Akron’s 27-3 win over Ohio ... Season-high six tackles in back-to-back games at Bowling Green and at Ball State ... Recorded five solo stops against the Falcons ... Had five tackles (three solo) as the Zips captured the Mid-American Conference championship with a 31-30 win over Northern Illinois ...
