Mark Ouimet is in his sixth season as Akron football’s assistant director of operations. In this role, he helps facilitate the day-to-day logistics of the program and also assists in organizing the team’s recruiting effort.
Ouimet was coordinator of recruiting operations at Mississippi State prior to coming to Akron. He relocated to Starkville from Ann Arbor, Mich., where he lived for the previous 10 years. During that period, he spent time as the director of football operations for the All-American Football League and also worked as vice president of football operations for PMG Sports.
He was a member of the University of Michigan’s football staff as well, first serving as an assistant recruiting coordinator and special teams assistant, followed by an assignment as the Wolverines coordinator of player development.
Ouimet has also worked as an account representative for the Detroit Pistons, and was a football graduate assistant for Northwood University in Midland, Mich., from 1996-98.
Ouimet, 46 (born May 20, 1971), earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Siena Heights College in 1995, followed by an MBA from Northwood in 1997.
