Junior (2008): In addition to remaining a force on the special teams, saw more action at rover ... Played in all 12 games, starting for an injured Wayne Cobham at Temple ... Had 12 tackles on the season, including three at Ohio ... Added a fumble recovery at Army ... Also at Army, made one of the biggest hits on kick coverage for the season.
Sophomore (2007): Named Akron’s Most Improved Player for Special Teams … Played in eight games, missing four of the last six games due to injury … Was one of Akron’s top special teams players as well as backup at either linebacker or rover positions … Was dubbed Amin Ka-Boom after a bone-jarring block on a punt return versus Army, helping Andre Jones return the ball 63 yards ... His hit was downloaded and had over 3,500 views on YouTube.com ... Teamed with Wayne Cobham to make another big hit on punt coverage at Indiana ... Missed the Temple, Buffalo and Bowling Green games due to injury ... Returned to the field for the Ohio game and made an immediate impact ... On Brian Williams’ 95-yard kickoff return for a TD, Williams credited Kabir’s block at midfield for springing him for the score … Defensively, had five tackles on the year, including two at Indiana.
