Cheer and Dance Set High Marks at NCA/NDA Collegiate Camp

AKRON, Ohio – The Zips cheer and dance teams
recently participated in the National Cheerleaders Association
(NCA)/National Dance Alliance (NDA) Collegiate Camp in Louisville,
Ky.
On the final day of the camp, cheer received a silver bid, spirit
stick, first place in Rally Routine and also was awarded Most
Improved. The dance team earned a bronze bid, spirit stick, second
place in Team Dance routine and fourth place in Gameday
routine.
The dance team's Team Dance routine beat out Louisville, which has
won the national championship each of the last two years and is
ranked No. 1.
The silver and bronze bids carry with them financial assistance to
the program for their trip to NCA/NDA Nationals in Daytona Beach,
Fla., in the spring.
In April, the UA dance team earned its highest-ever
finish of seventh place at the NDA Collegiate Championship.
