Men's and Women's Basketball to Host Meet the Team Event on Oct. 18

AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron men's and women's basketball teams will hold their annual Meet the Teams event on Friday, Oct. 18, at James A. Rhodes Arena prior to the women's volleyball match against Western Michigan.
Doors will open for the Meet the Team event at 6 p.m. ET and will go until the first serve of the Zips' volleyball match against the Broncos at 7 p.m. The event and the volleyball match – which will air live on Time Warner Cable Sports – are free to the public.
Both teams will be in attendance to meet with fans, sign autographs and take photographs.
The event will also serve as the last opportunity for fans to have their picture taken with members of the men's basketball team as part of the #BackTheZips campaign. The #BackTheZips theme was developed in part to celebrate the back-to-back Mid-American Conference Championships won by the Zips in 2012 and 2013, and in part to show appreciation for current fans and encourage new ones to get on board. Ticket representatives will be on hand to discuss season ticket options for both the men's and women's campaigns, as well as to show which seats are still available.

Chima Athletics Ticket Office at InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field (located at 375 E. Exchange Street, near Gate 1 at the southwest corner of the venue, at the intersection of E. Exchange and S. Union streets), Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. ET.
