Game Times Set for Basketball Doubleheader on Saturday, Jan. 18

AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron announced the start times for the basketball doubleheader on Saturday, Jan. 18, with the men's team playing host to Toledo at 11 a.m. ET on ESPNU and the women's squad facing rival Kent State at 1:30 p.m.
Season ticket holders for both men’s and women’s basketball will be admitted to the doubleheader. Additionally, fans who purchase single-game tickets for the men's contest will also be admitted to both games.
The men's contest between the Zips (7-5) and Rockets (12-1) will see the two teams selected by the MAC Media as the preseason favorites in their respective divisions face off live on ESPNU. The game is the sixth for the Zips on the ESPN family of networks this season and the 13th contest on TV overall.
The contest will also serve as the Second Annual LeBron James Family Foundation Day. Over 600 local elementary students who participate in the LJFF's Wheels for Education program and their family members will be in attendance to see the Zips take on the Rockets.
Following the conclusion of the men's contest, the women's squad (6-5) will face neighborhood rival Kent State (3-8) in the first of two PNC Wagon Wheel Challenge contests.
The men's team returns to action this evening when they play host to Marshall. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
The women return to action on Saturday, Jan. 4, when they play host to Ball State at 2 p.m.
