2013 University of Akron Football Season Alcohol Operations Plan
CONCESSIONS AND BEER SALES
Concession stands are located throughout InfoCision Stadium
– Summa Field. Concessions for Zips Athletics are operated by
Sodexho. Visa, MasterCard and Discover are accepted at all
concession stands.
Draft beer products and shelled peanuts are available for purchase on the west concourse at the Yuengling draft cart and Bud Light Bottoms Up draft cart both located at Section 110. Canned beer products are available for purchase at concession stands in sections 106, 114, 109, 113.
Zip Cards will not be accepted for any alcoholic beverage purchase. This process complies with the University agreement with all external vendors that accept the Zip Card, but do not accept its use for purchase of alcohol.
Outside alcoholic beverages are prohibited and concessions vouchers cannot be redeemed for the purchase of alcohol. Additionally, alcohol purchased on the concourse cannot be transported to the premium seating levels of the venue, and vice versa. Beer, wine and spirits will be sold on the FirstMerit Foundation Club and Suite levels.
DRAFT BEER SALES MANAGEMENT
IDENTIFICATION PROCESS (ID CHECK):
- Age 21 minimum to purchase and consume alcohol in the state of Ohio.
- Identification process will be conducted at point of sale by the Sodexo sales employee.
- All patrons, regardless of age, will show valid ID.
- Ohio Government ID card or state driver license identification card will be accepted.
SALES OPERATION:
- Identification is required for all transactions.
- Cash and Credit/Debit Card both accepted for payment.
- Can purchase food and other beverage along with beer in the same transaction.
- Limit of two beers purchased per transaction – or one beer per management discretion.
- Sales start at gate opening – one hour prior to kick off.
- Sales end at end of the 3rd quarter – or sooner per Game Management and University Police discretion.
ALCOHOL FREE SEATING:
- Alcohol will not be permitted in Seating Section 201.
- Usher Associates and signage will be posted to monitor alcohol free seating section.
DRINK RESPONSIBLY PROGRAM:
- A designated driver sign up kiosk will be offered on the concourse and administered by an Usher Associate.
- All designated drivers will sign a pledge to provide responsible transportation for members of their group.
- Designated drivers will receive a wristband and a voucher for a complimentary soda or coffee.
