FOOTBALL HOMESTAND FOLLOWS BIG VICTORY
After consecutive road games, Football starts a two-game homestand on Saturday when it takes on
Ball State at noon at InfoCision Stadium – Summa Field.
The game will be televised regionally by ESPN and also will be
available on ESPN3 and ESPN Game Plan. Click here for the stations across the conference's
footprint that are scheduled to broadcast the game.
This will be our fourth-annual "Scout Day," with an overnight
campout scheduled on the field. We will also have our second youth
"Cheer and Dance Clinic" on Saturday morning. Tickets are available
on ZipsTickets.com or
by calling our ticket office at 1-888-99-AKRON (25766).
The team comes off a
24-17 victory at Miami (Ohio) last Saturday, which ended a
30-game road losing streak for the program and provided yet another
sign of the improvement Coach Bowden and his staff are making with
the program. It was also the first time we had won at Miami since
1939!
You can imagine the level of excitment in the locker room
following the win. Click here to watch Coach Bowden address the team
and see some of the celebration ... and join us as we seek
another win this weekend.
Also, don’t forget that the following weekend (Saturday,
Nov. 2) we face Kent State at 3:30 p.m. in the annual PNC Wagon Wheel
Challenge (more information below).
SATURDAY NIGHT SOCCER
Men's Soccer, ranked No. 18 nationally this week, plays Northern
Illinois on Saturday night at 7 at FirstEnergy Stadium – Cub
Cadet Field. It will be "Senior Night" and we will salute the class
of Reinaldo Brenes, Robbie Derschang, Zac Portillos, Aodhan Quinn
and Eric Stevenson during pregame.
This is an important conference match as we work toward securing
our ninth consecutive MAC regular-season title and the right to
host the league tournament on our campus yet again. Tickets are
available on ZipsTickets.com or by calling our ticket office at
1-888-99-AKRON (25766).
If you are unable to make it to the game you can watch a live video stream through GoZips.com, listen
locally on Fox Sports Radio 1350 AM or online nationally
through iHeartRadio.com.

REMINDER ABOUT "JIM DENNISON DAY" ON NOV. 2
We are looking forward to honoring Jim Dennison, our winningest Football head coach
at the Nov. 2 home game against Kent State.
All former student-athletes, assistant coaches and staff
affiliated with Dennison's 28-year UA tenure are invited to attend
the festivities, which will include an on-field recognition. A
pre-game reception to celebrate Dennison will be held on the
FirstMerit Foundation Club Level (fifth floor) of the stadium. The
cost is $10 per person and includes a buffet lunch and a reserved
ticket to the game, thanks to the underwritting by the Varsity "A"
Association.
"Coach D" served as our head coach from 1973 to 1985, leading
Akron to the finals of the 1976 NCAA Division II playoffs. His 80
career wins are the most in program history.
