THE ZIPPYS
On Monday we held one of my favorite events of the year, "The Zippys," our annual all Student-Athlete Banquet. It's a wonderful time to see every student-athlete (except those who have class at that time) dressed up to celebrate the end of the academic year and all of our achievements in the classroom, in competition and in the community. We handed out a number of awards that you can read about here, but what I love most is hearing our student-athletes speak in front of their peers about how meaningful their experience was as a Zip. Kacie Cassell from Women's Basketball and Bjorn Johansson from Track and Field did a terrific job with their senior reflections, as did our award winners with their acceptance speeches. We're so fortunate to have such a caring and devoted group of students represent our University and Zips Athletics.
