MAC MADNESS AT THE Q
Hopefully, you're making plans to attend this week's
Mid-American Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments at Quicken Loans
Arena in Cleveland. Both of our teams received a bye to Thursday's
quarterfinal round, during which the Women, the No. 3 seed, will
play either Western Michigan or Toledo at 2:30 p.m., and the Men,
the No. 4 seed, will face either Miami (Ohio) or Ohio at 6:30
p.m.
We encourage you to order seats through our ticket office by using
this order form or calling 1-888-99-AKRON (25766). Our
staff has called every paid season ticketholder, but there is still
time to reserve your seats. You will be charged only for games in
which we compete and then per round as we advance.
Please remember that the MAC requires each
school to purchase a block of tickets for each round, so any unsold
tickets are a cost we need to absorb. Plus, this way you are
guaranteed to sit among other Zips fans. I feel we have the
best fanbase in the league and I'm annually impressed by the
turnout of Zips faithful at the Q!
Be sure to join us before and after the games at the Clevelander, our Official
Fan Headquarters, located just a few blocks from The Q at 834 Huron
Road East.
MAC TOURNAMENT TRAVEL DETOUR
We want those of you traveling from the Akron area to downtown
Cleveland for this weekend's MAC Tournament to be aware of a road
closure situation on I-77 north and southbound, scheduled for late
Friday and running throughout the weekend.
This Ohio Department of Transportation web page
provides more information.

Gaudyn (triple jump) and Annika Roloff (pole vault) will compete
for the 34th-ranked women's squad.
