MACtion IN DETROIT
The start of preseason training camp for Football is little over
two weeks away, and as we prepare for the season Head Coach Terry
Bowden and I will be in Detroit next Monday and Tuesday for
Mid-American Conference summer meetings and the league's annual
Media Day.
Seniors Jerrod Dillard and Malachi Freeman will join Coach Bowden
at Tuesday's MAC Media Day at Ford Field, and you can follow a special blog on GoZips.com that day as well as watch complete coverage
on ESPN3. Be sure to check GoZips.com early next week for further details.
Players are scheduled to report to campus on Thursday, Aug. 1 and
practice begins the next day as the team begins preparation for the
season opener at UCF on Thursday, August 29.
ANNUAL REPORT
In case you missed it, we published our 2012-13 Annual Report last month. This past
academic year was one of the most productive in Zips Athletics
history and this 100-page digital magazine chronicles it all.
Be sure to add it to your summer reading list!
GOLF OUTINGS
There is still time to sign up to play in summer golf outings to
support Baseball (July 22 at Medina Country Club) and
Men’s Basketball (August 19 at the
Quarry Golf Club in Canton).
The deadline to register for Monday's Baseball outing is Noon on
Friday. Please contact Alexa Doutt, with our Z-Fund if you are interested in
participating.
To sign up for the Men's Basketball outing please contact Anthony Henderson
with the Z-Fund.
NEED TIX?
Football 3-game mini plans went on sale on Monday, and single-game
tickets for Football, Men's and Women's Soccer and Volleyball go on
sale on Monday, July 29 at 10 a.m.
Also, Monday, July 22 is the deadline to renew Men's Soccer season tickets. After that date
seats will be released to fans on our waiting list.
You can purchase tickets via our online
ticketing page, by calling 1-888-99-AKRON (25766) or visiting
the Chima Athletics Ticket Office at InfoCision Stadium –
Summa Field, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5
p.m.
ROOnewal INCENTIVE PROGRAM
Renewing your Football season tickets early
makes you eligible for some great weekly prize giveaways. If you do
so by this Friday you will be entered into a drawing to win two
tickets to my suite for a home game this season, two seats at the
Football Kickoff Luncheon on Friday, August 23, and a
football autographed by head coach Terry Bowden
In recent weeks we gave away a road trip with the team and
upgraded a season ticketholder to the Club Level. Next week's final
prize is a 55-inch television.
All season ticketholders who have renewed or purchased new seats
by each drawing date are eligible to win. Check out more details here.
