ANOTHER BUSY WEEKEND FOR ZIPS ATHLETICS
We have another full weekend of competition for our spring sports,
including home series for both Baseball and Softball ...
• Baseball, fresh off a 7-5 win over Pittsburgh on Tuesday
and 8-5 victory against Canisius yesterday, faces Ohio in a
three-game series tomorrow through Sunday at Lee R. Jackson Field.
Tomorrow's game starts at 3 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday's action
begins at 1 p.m. The team maintains a 16-14 overall record and 6-3
mark in the MAC.
• Softball continues a 10-game homestand at Lee R. Jackson
Field, with a doubleheader against Bowling Green tomorrow starting
at 1 p.m. and single games against Toledo on Saturday and Sunday at
1 p.m.
• Track and Field, which swept Kent State, Ashland and
Youngstown State in last week's Northeast Ohio Quad at our Lee R.
Jackson Track and Field Complex, participates in the All-Ohio
Outdoor Championships tomorrow and Saturday at the University of
Cincinnati.
• Women's Tennis takes to the road to face MAC opponents
Bowling Green tomorrow and Western Michigan on Saturday. First
serve is set for 1 p.m. each day.
• Men's Golf heads to Bloomington, Ind., for the NYX Hoosier
Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
• Women's Golf competes in the Dolores Black Falcon Invite in
Bowling Green, Ohio, on Sunday and Monday.
MEN'S AND WOMEN'S BASKETBALL CELEBRATIONS
As a reminder, Men's Basketball will
hold its annual Celebration Banquet tomorrow at James A. Rhodes
Arena at 6 p.m. Limited space is available, but reservations
can still be made by contacting Amanda Baird, Administrative
Assistant for Men's Basketball, at (330) 972-7781 or via e-mail. Seats are
$20.
Also, be sure to mark your calendar for the Women's Basketball
Post-season Banquet on Friday, May 2 on the FirstMerit Foundation
Club Level (fifth floor) of InfoCision Stadium – Summa Field.
You can contact Candace Smith, Director of Women's Basketball

reservation. Seats are $20 for that event as well.
Each program has plenty to celebrate following their respective
seasons and would love to have you in attendance as they recognize
the accomplishments of their players.
FULL DAY OF EVENTS SURROUND APRIL 19 FOOTBALL SPRING
GAME
Football's annual Blue-Gold Spring Game is just over one week
away, and I know Head Coach Terry Bowden and his staff are excited
about the opportunity to give the fanbase a sneak peak of next
season's team. I know they are pleased with the progress that has
been made over the last few weeks of spring practice.
We hope you can join us at InfoCision Stadium –
Summa Field on Saturday, April 19 at 1 p.m., for what will be a fun
day on campus, including our fifth-annual Youth Clinic for children ranging from
kindergarten through sixth grade, Zips Fest and an
open-to-the-public Fan Meet and Greet with Coach Bowden. Here's the
timeline for the day ...
10-10:45 a.m. – Youth Clinic (Stile Athletics Field
House)
10:45 a.m.-1 p.m. – Zips Fest (area between the Lee R.
Jackson Softball Field, and Track and Field Complex)
11 a.m. – Men's Soccer Exhibition versus Louisville
(FirstEnergy Stadium – Cub Cadet Field)
Noon – Gates open at InfoCision Stadium – Summa
Field
12:15 p.m. – Fan Meet and Greet with Coach Bowden
(InfoCision Stadium FirstMerit Foundation Club Level - 5th
Floor)
1 p.m. – Blue-Gold Football Spring Game (InfoCision Stadium
– Summa Field)
2 p.m. – Baseball versus Bowling Green (Lee R. Jackson
Baseball Field)
The football, soccer and baseball contests are free as is parking.
Please park in Lot 1 (the structure at the corner of Carroll and
Spicer streets) or Lot 9 (behind the stadium scoreboard along E.
Exchange Street) and enter the stadium through Gates 1 and
2.
Football also will host its annual Alumni Reunion that weekend. An
alumni welcome reception will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Friday at
Beau's on the River at the Sheraton Suites in Cuyahoga Falls (1989
Front Street, 44221). Starting a 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, an alumni
reception will be held on the stadium's FirstMerit Foundation Club

FOOTBALL SEASON TICKETS ON SALE
A reminder that Football season tickets and renewals are on sale. We
are not increasing ticket prices this season while offering a
variety of all-inclusive packages that include free parking,
concessions vouchers, seat cushions, tailgate flags and more.
Renewal invoices for current ticket holders are available at ZipsTickets.com, with a deadline of June 2 to
be eligible for additional prizes and to secure your same seat
locations. Hardcopy renewal invoices will be mailed at a later
date, and only to those who have not yet renewed
electronically.
We kick off the season at home on Thursday, Aug. 28 against Howard
and also play host to Marshall on Saturday, Sept. 20 in
non-conference play. Last month we announced our full MAC schedule, which
includes a home game against defending league champion Bowling
Green on Tuesday, Nov. 2 on national television.
