ONLY TWO MORE DAYS TO TELL US WHAT YOU THINK!
If you have not already done so, please take a few minutes to complete our short online survey. We want feedback from everyone impacted by Zips Athletics – our fans, the community, donors, sponsors, University faculty and staff, students, coaches and Athletics staff, and of course our student-athletes – as part of our Strategic Planning process.
The survey closes at 5 p.m. ET Friday, so please click here to send your feedback. You can enter to win season tickets if you elect to provide your contact information in a link at the conclusion of the survey. Regardless, your answers and feedback will remain anonymous unless you elect to provide it during the survey.
Thanks in advance for helping to make us better!
IT’S TIME TO DANCE
Greetings from Detroit, where our Men’s Basketball team is hard at work preparing for its NCAA Tournament Second Round game against Virginia Commonwealth. We tip off against the Rams at The Palace at Auburn Hills at approximately 9:45 p.m. ET tomorrow, 30 minutes after the conclusion of the Michigan-South Dakota State game, and our guys are fired up to seek the first NCAA Division I win in program history.
This game will be televised nationally on CBS with some of the best in the business – Verne Lundquist, Bill Raftery and Rachel Nichols – calling the action … as will, of course, our Akron IMG Sports Network radio crew on SportsRadio 1350 AM and iHeartRadio.
While we’re always active on social media, another great way to follow the team is through our NCAA Tournament blog that chronicles every step of this postseason trip.
For those of you who purchased tickets through us, our Director of Ticket Operations, Adam O’Connell, will be in the lobby of the team hotel, the Marriott Centerpoint, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow. He also will be at the arena’s west atrium box office starting at 5:45 p.m. tomorrow until halftime of our game. Please bring photo identification to claim your tickets.
The Alumni Association is encouraging Zips alumni, fans and friends to gather at The Moose Preserve Bar & Grille in Bloomfield Hills before the game at 5 p.m.
If you’re not coming to Detroit, remember that Johnny J’s in the Valley is hosting a Zips Watch party.
POSTSEASON HOOPS TOMORROW FOR OUR WOMEN
Congratulations to our Women’s Basketball program for being selected to participate in the WNIT. It’s just our third trip to the postseason in program history but our second in the last four years, so that shows how far Head Coach Jodi Kest has taken our program from when she took over.
We play at 7 p.m. tomorrow at Duquesne in the Palumbo Center, located in downtown Pittsburgh. The timing should work out perfectly for our radio listeners, who can hear Bill Morgan on SportsRadio 1350 at 6:45 p.m. and after he interviews Coach Kest he’ll send it over to Steve French and Joe Dunn at The Palace.
More info about the Women’s postseason journey is available on their WNIT blog.
