CELEBRATE ZIPS BASKETBALL WITH US
Following record-breaking seasons for both our Men’s and Women’s Basketball programs, we are hosting two events to commemorate their unprecedented achievements – and we would love for you to join us.
Hopefully you already are planning to be at Rhodes Arena tonight for our Men’s Basketball Celebration event, with the social hour beginning at 6 p.m. followed by a buffet dinner and awards presentations. Even if you don’t yet already have a ticket, you can “walk up” and purchase – it’s $30 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and under or University of Akron students with valid Zip Card.
We also announced that two weeks from today – on Friday, April 26 – our Women’s Basketball season celebration event will be held on the seventh floor of InfoCision Stadium. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with dinner and awards 30 minutes later. Tickets can be purchased by contacting Candace Smith at 330-972-8274 or clw23@uakron.edu.
THE STRATEGIC PLAN
Our accelerated Strategic Planning process continues to progress rapidly, and we are eager to unveil what we believe will be an impactful plan to you next month.
We received more than 1,200 responses to our survey, and wanted to publicly recognize those who were selected at random to win season tickets for participating and providing their contact information:
Football club seat season tickets: Chris Capozzi
Men’s Basketball season tickets: David Palmer
Women’s Basketball season tickets: Raymond Light
Men’s Soccer season tickets: Vincent DiGirolamo
Women’s Soccer season tickets: Terri Charlton
Thank you to everyone who provided valuable feedback in that survey. Our staff and I have read every single comment on every single survey that was submitted. Not that I ever doubted it for one second, but the passion for Zips Athletics is clearly evident! It has been really helpful to hear from you and that feedback will be incorporated into our plans moving forward.
To take that a step further, I would like to invite you to an Open Forum about Zips Athletics to talk more about your thoughts on what we’re doing well and how we can improve. Please join me at noon on Saturday, April 27 on the FirstMerit Foundation Club Level of InfoCision Stadium … this is open to the public and is a free event immediately prior to our Spring Football Game at 1 p.m.
