Akron senior track and field standout Claudia Garcia Jou (Barcelona, Spain) has been named the Zips' Student-Athlete of the Week after establishing a school- and Stile Athletics Field House record in the women's high jump with a leap of 6-1.50 (1.87m) at the Northeast Ohio Quad on April 3. The performance represented the second-best mark in the country this spring.
