2021: Appeared in all12 games for the Zips...went 29-for-30 in extra points and was 7-of-11 in field goals on the campaign...led the Zips in scoring with 50 points...connected on a season-long 40-yard field goal, while adding an extra point at Auburn (Sept. 4)...hit a 39-yard field goal and went 3-for-3 in point after attempts versus Temple (Sept. 11)...was a perfect 5-of-5 on extra points in an Akron win over Bryant (Sept. 18)...made a 23-yard field goal and drilled a pair of extra points against Ohio (Oct. 2) after hitting an extra point at Ohio State (Sept. 25)...made all five extra-point attempts in a 35-20 triumph at Bowling Green (Oct. 9)...posted three extra points at Miami (Oct. 16)...hit a 35-yard field goal and an extra point versus Buffalo (Oct. 23)...made a 27-yard field goal and tacked on a pair of extra points against Ball State (Nov. 2)...connected on a pair of field goals, including a 39-yarder that gave the Zips a fourth-quarter lead at Western Michigan (Nov. 9), while making four extra-point attempts...capped the campaign hitting pair of extra points at Toledo (Nov. 27).

2019: Played in nine games...on the season, went a perfect 8-for-8 in extra points and 5-for-6 in field goals...finished as the Zips’ scoring leader with 23 points...against Ohio, scored Akron’s only points with a 25-yard field goal for his fifth consecutive made field goal...at Miami, tied the game at 3-3 at the beginning of the second quarter with a 33-yard field goal... tacked on two extra points...against Eastern Michigan, nailed two extra points and 14-yard onside kick...at Bowling Green, put UA on the scoreboard on the opening drive with a career-long 35-yard field goal...on the Zips’ second drive, repeated the feat with another 35-yarder...had two field goals on the day...against Kent State, missed a 46-yard field goal but rebounded with a 24-yard field goal for UA’s only points...at UMass, converted three extra points, the most in his young career...against Troy, converted his first extra point...at Central Michigan, converted an onside kick, giving Akron the ball back with two minutes to go.

PERSONAL: Pursuing a master’s degree in business after earning an undergraduate degree in organizational supervision...parents are Butch and Bev Smigel...has two brothers– Jordan and Tyler– and two sisters– Alyson and Kelsey.
