As a Redshirt Junior (2019): Versatile lineman ... started all 12 games ... seven starts at left guard, two at center, two at right tackle, and one at left tackle ... took snaps at center against Troy ... started at center at UMass and against Kent State ... started at right tackle against Ohio ... preseason fourth-team All-MAC by Athlon Sports.

As a Redshirt Sophomore (2018): Started the first three games at right tackle before suffering a season-ending injury … in the stunning win at Northwestern, the O-line protected QB Kato Nelson perfectly, giving up no sacks … named Most Improved on offense following spring drills.

As a Redshirt Freshman (2017): Played in 10 games with nine starts at left guard … also saw action with the kicking unit … in the win over Ohio, helped the Zips to 443 yards of total offense and four passing touchdowns while securing Akron’s top spot in the MAC East … the offensive line provided perfect protection in the win over Arkansas Pine Bluff, helping UA to 267 rushing yards and five touchdowns … lettered.

As a Freshman (2016): Redshirted … enrolled at Akron in January 2016.

Postgraduate: Played offensive line in 2015 for coach Ryan Williams at Jireh Prep in Charlotte, N.C.

High School: Played offensive line for coach Russell Dove at West Bladen HS … All-Conference honoree as a senior … team MVP … also participated in basketball and track & field … Coaches’ Award recipient in basketball … track MVP.

Personal: Born May 30, 1997 … parents are Angel Jones and Robert Council … has three older brothers—Robert, Jr., Ryan, and Corban—and a younger sister Kiyla … sport management major.
