Sophomore (2008): Played in 12 games, starting six ... Finished the season with 34 tackles, including four for losses ... In his first collegiate start, recorded a career-high nine tackles in a win at Army, holding the Black Knights’ high-powered rushing attack to just 160 yards on 48 attempts ... Recorded his first career fumble recovery versus Cincinnati ... At Kent Sate, tallied six tackles, including a TFL for minus 11 yards, with a forced fumble ... Also forced a fumble versus Bowling Green ... Scored a defensive two-point conversion, taking a blocked PAT and returning it 98 yards in the Zips’ win over Toledo.
Freshman (2007): One of seven true freshmen to see action in 2007 … Played in the first six games of the season, helping fill voids due to injuries to Nate Robinson and Jared Cecchetti … Had five tackles on the season … Versus Kent State, tallied two stops, including a two-yard sack … Registered three tackles at Connecticut … Part of the 2006 Akron signing class … However, did not enroll until January … Participated in spring drills and enters the 2007 season as a true freshman, having five years to play four.
