Sandra Chandra Mohan led the Zips at the 2026 Nittany Lion Invitational

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Sohniya Chandra Mohan paced the Akron women's golf team at the 2026 Nittany Lion Invitational, carding a 54-hole total of 219 (+3) to finish tied for 34th overall at the Penn State Blue Course on Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 7-8).
The Zips posted a team score of 894 (+30) over three rounds at the par-72, 6,363-yard layout.
Mohan opened the tournament with a 1-over par 73 before firing an even-par 72 in the second round to enter Tuesday's final 18 holes at 145 (+1). She closed the tournament with a 2-over 74 to finish at 219 (+3), leading Akron on the team leaderboard.
Goethe Na Songkhla and Amara Montoya followed closely for the Zips. Na Songkhla recorded a 54-hole total of 222 (+6) to finish tied for 45th, while Montoya posted a 226 (+10) to earn a tie for 57th overall.
Thitirat Silakham and Kaitlin Kormuth rounded out the scoring for Akron', finishing with 229 (+13) and 234 (+18) scores, respectively.
Competing as an individual, Katrin Horn Danielsdottir represented the Zips in the inaugural Happy Valley Individual Crown (two 18-hole rounds), posting a 166 (+22) total.
Akron returns to the course Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 14-15, for the Rocket Classic, hosted by Toledo at Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania, Ohio.
