NORTON, Ohio — Noah Nyageo and Majid Abuaun finished first and second, respectively, at the 56th annual Tommy Evans Invitational that Akron hosted at the Silver Creek Cross Country Trails.
As a team, the Zips finished in second with 49 points behind Walsh's 38.
Nyageo, a sophomore, ran the 6K race in 17:50.1, while the senior Abuaun recorded a mark of 18:26.3.
Quinn Hopkins finished in the top 10 (ninth) in 18:44.5, while Rowan Smith took 24th in 19:18.8. Vincent Lightle rounded out the Zips' scorers with a 29th-place finish (19:23.4).
Emil Stanford (46th, 19:47.1), James Baisden (47th, 19:55.0), Brody Bauman (50th, 20:03.5) and Malik Hogan (76th, 21:30.1) rounded out the rest of the competitors for the Zips.
