Zips Fall to Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. -Â Akron fell 68-0 to Nebraska on the road Saturday night.
The Cornhuskers improved to 2-0 on the season while the Zips dropped to 0-2.
Sean Patrick (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) led all Zips rushers with 64 yards in the contest, picking up 5.3 yards per carry. Jordan Gant (Lakeland, Fla.) also added 31 yards on the ground.
Marcel Williams (Hollywood, Fla) hauled in two catches for 28 yards. Myles Walker (Monaca, Pa.) also added two receptions.
For the second straight week, Shammond Cooper (St. Louis, Mo.) led the Zips in tackles. Cooper recorded a team-high nine tackles while DiMarco Johnson (Irmo, S.C.) followed behind with six. Justin Anderson (East Palo Alto, Calif.) caused a goal line fumble fumble to prevent a Nebraska touchdown while Cyrus Durham (Atherton, Calif.) came away with the recovery. As a unit, the Akron defense recorded a season-high 66 tackles
