Jackie Wallgren Named Chair of NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Committee

AKRON, Ohio – Jackie Wallgren, Senior Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator at the University of Akron (UA), has been named Chair of the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Committee for the 2025-26 academic year.
Wallgren has served on the national committee since the 2022-23 academic year and will now lead its work overseeing the Division I women's soccer championship, including team selection, tournament operations, site selection, and policies to advance the sport.
Serving on this committee has been such a rewarding experience, and I'm looking forward to taking on the chair role, Wallgren said. Women's soccer is in a great place right now, and it's exciting to help shape both the future of the sport and the championship experience for the student-athletes.

About Jackie Wallgren
• Joined Akron Athletics in 2021 as Senior Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator.
• Provides leadership in areas including Title IX, compliance, academic support services, student-athlete development, while also serving as sport administrator for several programs, including men's and women's soccer.
• Previously served in leadership roles at Colorado State University–Pueblo, Texas A&M University–Commerce, and Texas A&M University–Kingsville.
• Earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin–Superior and a master's in sport administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is on track to graduate with her Juris Doctorate from the University of Akron in December 2025.
• Four-year women's soccer letterwinner at Wisconsin–Superior, where she was named Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
About the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Committee
The committee is charged with overseeing the Division I women's soccer championship, including the selection of teams, development of policies, and championship management.
