Orlando Fla. – The Akron Zips golf team fell 3.5-2.5 to Drake in the final match of the Rust Buster Match Play event hosted by Ball State and Murray State on Tuesday.
Juniors Hridhika Vora and Maisarah Hezri captured the wins for Akron, while Emily Liptak finished with a tie.
Vora defeated Drake's Rylee Heryford 5&3 and registered four birdies. For the tournament, Vora carded 12 birdies in just 40 holes played.
Hezri won her match 2&1 over Julie Huggins. She registered two birdies en route to the victory.
Liptak tied her match with Erika Holmberg, while recording three birdies.
Akron will be back in action on Feb. 21-23 at the Rio Verde Collegiate hosted by Western Michigan at Rio Verde White Wing Course.
