Akron Places Six on 2025 All-MAC Team

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Akron football team had six players earn Mid-American Conference postseason accolades as junior RB Jordan Gant (Lakeland, Fla.), junior DL Julien Laventure (Upper Darby, Pa.), sophomore WR Israel Polk (Richmond, Calif.) and freshman WR Marcel Williams (Hollywood, Fla.) garnered Second-Team All-MAC accolades followed by sophomore DL Bruno Dall (Hamburg, Germany) and junior OL Keylen Davis ( Indianapolis, Ind.) with Third-Team All-MAC honors, the league announced on Thursday.
Landing on the Second-Team All-MAC roster were Gant, Polk and Williams for offense and Laventure for defense.
Gant capped his first season at Akron as the first 1,000-yard rusher since Dennis Kennedy ran for 1,321 yards in 2008. Gant finished the season with 1,032 yards, averaging 86.0 yards per game and 4.8 yards per carry. He registered three games of 150 yards or more, including a career-high 176-yard performance against Central Michigan where he was awarded the Doak Walker National Running Back of the Week accolades. In addition, Gant was named MAC Offensive Player of the Week for a 161-yard, three-touchdown performance against Duquesne and added a 153-yard effort against UMass with two touchdowns. Gant recorded six rushing TDs, and one receiving TD for the season. He registered nine receptions an 48 yards receiving in 2025.

Polk paced the offense with eight touchdowns for the 2025 campaign. He ranked second on the team in receptions (33) and total receiving yards (525) with a team-high 75-yard long reception, twice, against UAB and Bowling Green. In 12 games, Polk 15.9 yards per reception and 43.8 yards per game.

Laventure anchored the defensive end position with fellow All-MAC recipient Bruno Dall. Laventure led the defense in tackles for loss, posting 10.5 takedowns for 53 yards of loss. He was tied for the most sacks, with Dall, registering four sacks for 25 yards of loss and added six QB hurries, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. For the season, Laventure recorded 45 total tackles with 18 solo stops.

Williams was the top target for Akron QB Ben Finley, hauling in a team-high 45 receptions for a team-best 641 receiving yards. Williams posted two 100-plus yard receiving performances, including a 206-yard effort against rival Kent State. He recorded both of his touchdown receptions during the career-high performance. In 12 games, Williams averaged 53.4 yards per game and 14.2 yards per catch with a 46-yard long reception against UMass.

Rounding out the All-MAC performers on Third-Team was Dall on defense and Davis on offense.
Dall worked in tandem on the opposite side of the defensive line with fellow All-MAC selection Julian Laventure. Dall posted the second-best standard in tackles for loss for Akron, collecting 8.5 TFL for 38 yards of loss. He was tied for the most sacks, with Laventure, registering four sacks for 25 yards of loss and added six QB hurries and six pass breakups. Dall recorded his first career interception to end the game, lifting Akron to their fifth win of the season and fourth MAC win against Bowling Green. For the season, Dall recorded 44 total tackles with 18 solo stops.

Davis played 12 games with 11 starting appearances on the offensive line for Akron in 2025. Davis helped protect the quarterback, allowing the offense to generate 4,242 yards with 2,628 coming through the air and 1,614 on the ground. Davis also recorded an unassisted tackle this season, bringing his career total to two solo stops.
