Lee, Sullivan, Wygast Earn All-MAC Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Sophomore OF Meagan Lee (Leander, Texas) along with freshmen OF/3B Lily Sullivan (Carmel, Ind.) and 1B Sophia Wygast (Toledo, Ohio) earned 2024 Mid-American Conference accolades as all three players landed on Second-Team All-MAC. Additionally, Sullivan and Wygast made appearances on the All-Freshman squad, the league announced Tuesday.
In her second season at Akron, Lee led the Zips offense with a .435 batting average in 177 at-bats and scattered a team-high 77 hits. In 52 games played, the slapper launched one homerun with 14 RBI while registering 32 runs scored. Lee had the second-highest stolen base total (16 of 19) and posted a team-high .471 on base percentage with 12 free passes.
In league play, Lee unleashed a team-high 39 hits en route to a MAC-best .438 batting average. She played all 25 league contests and had six RBI with 14 runs scored. Lee was walked five times for a .468 on-base percentage and was 5-of-6 in stolen bases. In 2023, Lee was an ALL-MAC Freshman team selection.
In her rookie campaign, Sullivan played right field and third base, starting all 52 games. She was second on the squad in batting average, hitting .312 on the season. In 154 at-bats, Sullivan scattered 48 hits with a team-high seven doubles and one homerun. She recorded a second-best 22 RBI and touched 58 total bases with 19 runs scored. Sullivan registered a .377 slugging percentage and a .379 on-base percentage with 10 walks and eight hit by pitches.
In league play, Sullivan posted a .375 batting average with 30 hits in 80 at-bats. She played all 25 games and recorded a team-best four doubles to go along with a second-best 11 RBI. She was walked two times and was hit by pitch on three occasions for a .407 on-base percentage. Sullivan scored 14 runs.
Wygast started 47 games and made 50 appearances in her freshman debut. She led the team with 16 extra-base hits, including a team-high 11 homeruns coupled with five doubles. In 145 at-bats, Wygast supplied 45 hits to generate a team-high 43 RBI and a team-best .572 slugging percentage. She earned 14 walks and was hit by one pitch for a .370 on-base percentage and scored 16 runs.
In league play, Wygast started and appeared in 24 of 25 games, registering a .329 batting average with 25 hits in 76 at-bats. She drove in a team-high 24 RBI and touched a team-best 46 bases with 10 runs scored. Wygast posted a team-high .605 slugging percentage and earned eight walks for a .388 on-base percentage.
