Litchfield Park, Ariz. – Akron sophomore Avery Wright (Jackson, Ohio) led the Akron Zips scoring efforts in the spring schedule opener at the BGSU Women's Intercollegiate and 6,058-yard par 72 Wigwam Blue Course in Arizona on Tuesday.

Wright carded a 17-over par 159 performance on the opening 54 holes as she cut five strokes in round two to finish with a 77 (+5) ledger. Wright is currently tied at 35^th on the players leaderboard, while teammate sophomore Hridhika Vora (Mumbai, Maharashtra) enters the final round ranked tied for 38^th overall with a 160 (+18) two-round total.

Seniors Abbi Fleiner (Reno, Nev.) and Jessica Hahn (Canton, Ohio) followed with 163 (+21) and 165 (+23) scores, while junior Daphne van Son (Vlijmen, Netherlands) rounded out the team scoring with a 167 (+25) tally. Freshman Katrin Horn Danielsdottir (Reykjavik, Iceland) also fired a 167 (+25) total.

Akron carded a 646 (+78) team total.
