AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron women's golf team is back on the course after a short week, traveling to the Nittany Lion Invitational hosted by Penn State on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 16-17 in State College, Pa.
The Format
The 54-hole stroke play event at the Par 72 - 6402-yard at the Penn State Blue Course features a 10-team field. On Saturday, the tournament is slated for 36 holes of continuous play followed by and 18-hole final round on Sunday.
The Field
10 Teams: Penn State (host), Akron, Boston College, Central Michigan, Eastern Kentucky, High Point, James Madison, Navy, Richmond and Youngstown State.

Akron's Starting Five
Akron's starting five includes seniors Jessica Hahn (Canton, Ohio) and Abbi Fleiner (Reno, Nev.), Junior Daphne van Son (Vlijmen, Netherlands), sophomores Hridhika Vora (Mumbai, Maharashtra) and Avery Wright (Jackson, Ohio). In addition, freshman Katrin Horn Danielsdottir (Reykjavik, Iceland) will compete as an individual.

The Zips will travel to the Shirley Spork Invitational hosted by Eastern Michigan on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 2-3 at Eagle Crest Golf Club in Ypsilanti, Mich.
