YPSILANTI, Mich. – The University of Akron junior Anjali Silverheels (Hamburg, N.Y.) scored what proved to be the game-winning goal with 3:21 left in regulation to propel the Zips to a 10-9 lacrosse victory at Eastern Michigan on Saturday, April 22.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• After the Eagles jumped to a 2-0 lead in the opening quarter, senior Alexis Kiefer (West Chicago, Ill.) netted her first of two goals on the afternoon.
• Eastern Michigan extended its lead to 4-1 before tallies from Silverheels, senior Abby Schaefer (Beaver Falls, Pa.) and freshman Macy Vail (Joppatowne, Md.) in the second period squared the contest at four.
• The two sides exchanged the next six goals to enter the final stanza tied at seven as juniors Camille Patton (Canton, Ohio) and Jacqueline Glassey (Kildeer, Ill.) and freshman Kellen Fletcher (Valencia, Pa.) added goals in the third quarter.
• Vail tallied her second goal of the afternoon to open the fourth quarter at the 12:20 mark to give Akron an 8-7 lead.
• The Zips went ahead to stay with back-to-back goals from Kiefer and Silverheels at the 5:49 and 3:21 marks, respectively.
• Sophomore GK Hannah Sanders (Massillon, Ohio) recorded 10 saves in net for the Zips.

Akron hosts Robert Morris in the season finale for the Zips at 5 p.m. on Wednesday (April 26) at InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field.
