OXFORD, Ohio – The University of Akron softball team had its eight-game Mid-American Conference winning streak snapped as Miami triumphed past the Zips, 3-0 and 9-3, in Mid-American Conference action on Saturday (April 22).
The RedHawks garnered back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the first inning to account for all the scoring they needed in a 3-0 triumph in the opener.
Redshirt junior Molly McChesney (Verona, Wis.) led Akron at the plate going 2-for-4, while redshirt senior P Alexa DiFeo (Akron, Ohio) tossed a complete-game effort in the circle for the Zips.
