Pikunas Leads Women’s Golf at Spring Break Shootout

Dade City, Fla. --- The Akron women's golf team registered a 301-316 – 617 (+49) team total at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club as senior Jacinta Pikunas (Youngstown, Ohio) leads the squads scoring efforts after 36 holes of play.

Pikunas carded rounds of 76 (+4) and 73 (+1) for a 149 (+7) two-round total, ranking 25^th overall in a field of 90 golfers. Avery Wright follows with a 155 (+13) tally, while Jessica Hahn and Abbi Fleiner each carded 157 (+15) ledgers. Rounding out the Zips' scoring was Daphne van Son with a 162 (+20) total.

Akron is 13^th of 16 teams entering the final 18-hole round as Morehead State leads the team scoring 288-284 - 572 (+4), followed by Florida Gulf Coast and Western Kentucky with identical 296-284 - 580 (+12) scorecards.

The final round of the 2023 Spring Break Shootout is scheduled for Tuesday, March 14 with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m. The Zips are slated to start on holes 13-15.
