OXFORD, Ohio -- The University of Akron football team fell 19-0 to Miami at Yager Stadium on Wednesday night.

Zips QB Jeff Undercuffler, Jr. threw for 156 yards on 20 of 36 passing, including a 19-yard strike to WR Jasaiah Gathings. Gathings hauled in seven catches for 69 yards to lead the receiving corps and WR Daniel George followed with 23 yards on three targets.

Akron RB Lorenzo Lingard totaled 47 yards to lead the Zips' ground attack, picking up 4.3 yards per carry along the way, while QB Tahj Bullock also tacked on 23 yards on the ground.

Defensivly, LB Antavious Fish registered 11 tackles and recovered a fumble., while DE CJ Nunnally, IV added 10 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and one sack.

The RedHawks improved to 8-2 on the year and 5-1 in Mid-American Conference play, while the Zips fell to 2-8 overall and 1-5 in conference matchups.
