Abigail Daniel Earns Second MAC Swimmer of the Week Award

CLEVELAND, OH - On Wednesday the MAC announced the player of the week awards for women's swimming. Akron junior, Abigail Daniel won her second player of the week award of the season after her performance during the Cleveland State Magnus Cup Invitational where she won nine of her eleven events over the weekend.
Over the course of three days, Daniel was a part of six meet records; she broke three individual meet records in the 400 IM (4:16.37), 100 Fly (52.72), and 100 IM (54.21). Her time in the 100 IM also broke an Akron school record. She swam the final leg for the 200 Free Relay (1:30.86 – individual 22.26), 400 Free Relay (3:19.04 – individual 49.71), and 800 Free Relay (7:18.80 – individual 1:49.64) teams that broke three more meet records. The Zips' 400 Free Relay closed the meet with a pool record. Individually, Daniel also won the 50 Fly with a time of 24.09 and placed second in the 200 IM at 2:00.99. In addition, Daniel swam the butterfly leg for the 200 and 400 Medley Relay teams that captured gold.Â
Daniel and the rest of the Zips swim and dive team will be back in the pool for the Zippy Invitational on November 30-December 3.
