Chesondin Garners All-America Accolades at NCAA Cross Country Championships

EARLYSVILLE, Va. - University of Akron freshman Timothy Chesondin (Eldoret, Kenya) crossed the line in a school-record time of 29:43.4 to garner All-America accolades in the men's 10K title race at the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday (Nov. 18).

Chesondin becomes the first All-America honoree in Akron men's cross country program history by virtue of a 36th-place finish.

He joins Michelle Rizzo (1999) in elite company as the only cross country runners in Zips' program history to garner All-America accolades at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. Chesondin also represents the first Mid-American Conference runner to do so since 2016.
