Akron Swim & Dive Set to Host Toledo in First Dual Meet of the Season

AKRON, Ohio – The Akron swimming and diving program will be back in action at the Ocasek Natatorium as they host Mid-American Conference opponent Toledo in a dual meet on Friday, October 27 at 5 p.m. All events this Friday will be Long Course Meters.
The Zips are coming off a season-opening win in the Zips Classic posting a team score of 1,271. Madelyn Gatrall (100 yard Backstroke - 52.42) and Rebecca Reid (200 yard IM - 2:00.15) set individual meet records. Both swimmers were also members of the Akron 800 yard Freestyle Relay that broke another Zips Classic record with Elle Couture, Weronika Gorecka, Reid, and Gatrall finishing the race at the 7:18.04 mark. Akron took the top spot in all but four of the women's events during the three sessions of the opening meet.

The Zips will travel to Columbus, Ohio for a dual meet against Ohio State University on November 3rd before heading to another dual meet on the 4th at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.
