AKRON, Ohio - The 10th-ranked University of Akron rifle team is set to commence the spring portion of its schedule as the Zips travel to Annapolis, Md., to battle No. 4 Ole Miss and No. 9 Navy in a 9 a.m. match on Saturday, Jan. 14 at the United States Naval Academy.

Freshman Andrew Duross (Marlborough, Mass.) directs Akron's performances on the campaign with a team-best 1174.78 combined average this season on the strength of a team-high mark in smallbore (583.78), while sophomore Alexis Kirk (Clarence Center, N.Y.) leads the squad's efforts in the air rifle (591.67).

Scheduled to compete for Akron this Saturday are Duross, sophomore Rachel Engels (Meridian, Idaho), senior Andre Gross (Webster, N.Y.), Kirk, juniors Gavin Perkowski (Bolivar, Ohio) and Erin Schnupp (Gorham, Maine), senior Brendan Seitz (Milford, Mass.) and freshman Natalia Siek (Flemington, N.J.).
