David Enters Final Round with the Lead, Zips Third Overall

Richmond, Ky. – Sophomore Jennifer David (Hudson, Ohio) leads the field at the 2022 Colonel Classic as she fired a 3-under par 141 score for 36 holes at the University Club at Arlington on Monday. The Zips currently rank third in the team scoring with a 295-308 – 603 (+27) ledger at the par-72, 5,910-yard course.

David opened the day with a 2-under par 70 performance, collecting four birdies and 12 par scores to go along with two bogeys. She carried the momentum into the second 18-hole round by registering five birdies and nine par scores mixed with four bogeys for a 1-under par 71 effort. David is currently tied at the top of the player leaderboard at 3-under par with EKU's Ragga Kristinsdottir. In addition, David currently leads all players with nine birdies.

Sophomore Jessica Hahn (Canton, Ohio), graduate student Ke'Asha Phillips (Owensboro, Ky.) and junior Jacinta PIkunas (Youngstown, Ohio) followed in scoring for the Zips as all three players recorded opening round scores of 75 (+3). Hahn added a 78 (+6) for a 21st best 153 (+9) total, while Phillips and Pikunas tallied 79 (+7) and 80 (+8) scores for 154 (+10) and 155 (+11) two-round totals, respectively. Junior Ivana Shah (Mumbai, India) rounded out the scoring with 84-81 – 165 (+21) total.

EKU currently leads the team scoring with 293-299 - 592 (+16) total and Georgia State (303-298 - 601 +25) enters the final round second overall just two strokes ahead of the Zips.
