MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -Â The University of Akron men's and women's track and field teams collected a trio of victories as part of 18 overall top-five finishes at the Stan Romanoski Open hosted by West Virginia on Saturday, March 19.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Sophomore Caleb Mabins (Erie, Pa.) won the men's long jump with a career-best mark of 24-0.25 (7.32m), while finishing second in the men's triple jump with a career-long mark of 47-7.75 (14.52m).
• Junior Sara Foster (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio) took the title in the women's 400-meter hurdles in a time of 65.09, while placing fourth in the women's long jump with a mark of 17-4.25 (5.29m).
• Junior Kassandra Roemer (Kaiserlautern, Germany) bested the field in the women's long jump with a mark of 18-3.25 (5.57m).
• Redshirt junior Milton Wilson (Streetsboro, Ohio) placed second in the men's hammer with a mark of 199-0 (60.67m).
• Senior Jayce Shaffer (Lawrenceville, Ga.) earned runner-up accolades in the long jump with a career-best mark of 23-0.50 (7.02m).
• Freshman Hannah Kerr (Chillicothe, Ohio) finished seconds in the women's 5,000 meters crossing the line in a career-best time of 19:11.93.
• Freshman Jacob Glavickas (Orwell, Ohio) placed second in the men's 400 meters in a career-best time of 50.26.

Akron travels to Texas over Spring Break to compete at the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas, March 23-26, as well as the Texas State Invitational in San Marcos, Texas, March 24-26.
