Zips Earn Academic All-MAC Football Accolades

2022 FOOTBALL ACADEMIC ALL-MAC RELEASE
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The University of Akron football team garnered 15 selections when the Mid-American Conference released its 2022 Football Academic All-MAC Team on Monday, Dec. 19.
In all, 191 student-athletes from all 12 conference institutions were honored including redshirt seniors Bubba Arslanian (Aurora, Ohio) and Jaylen Kelly-Powell (Detroit, Mich.), redshirt juniors Kyle Bauman (North Royalton, Ohio), Sean Conroy (North Olmsted, Ohio) and Logan Hawkins (Harrison City, Pa.), junior Julian Richardson (Albany, Ga.), redshirt sophomores Corey Thomas, Jr. (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Alex Robarge (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) and Shawn Naim (Brecksville, Ohio), sophomores Andrew Behm (Appleton, Wis.), Ronan Chambers (Olmsted Township, Ohio), Blake Hester (Ashland, Ky.), Tony Georges (Westlake, Ohio), Nate Williams (Utica, Ohio) and redshirt freshman Grant Gainer (Akron, Ohio).
To qualify for the Academic All-MAC Teams, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the scheduled contests for that particular sport.
