Akron Rallies Past Northern Kentucky, 70-69

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – A late 8-1 fourth quarter scoring run propelled the Akron women's basketball team to a come-from-behind 70-69 road triumph past Northern Kentucky (3-3) on Monday, Nov. 28.
The victory was the fourth straight for the Zips (4-1), who finished the contest shooting nearly 39 percent (.388) from the field, while connecting on nine three pointers. Northern Kentucky completed the game hitting at a 43.1 clip from the field, while matching Akron with nine triples.
A season-best four Zips scored in double figures led by an 18-point, eight-rebound, four-assist and four-block performance from redshirt junior G Layne Ferrell (Franklin, Ohio).
Sophomore F Reagan Bass (Strongsville, Ohio) posted a double double with a 12-point and 12-rebound effort for Akron, while senior G Dominique Camp (Dayton, Ohio) and senior F Molly Neitzel (Rocky River, Ohio) added 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Lindsey Duvall led four Northern Kentucky players scoring in double figures with a game-high 23 points.
Led by a career- and game-high seven steals from Camp, the Zips' defensive efforts forced the Norse into 16 turnovers, which Akron converted into a 19-13 scoring edge, while committing a season-low nine turnovers of its own.
