Yorktown, Ind. – The Akron Zips golf team enters the final round of the Ball State Cardinal Classic tied for the top spot of the leaderboard after posting a 609 (+33) 36-hole tournament total at The Players Club on Monday.

Akron finished the initial 18-hole round with a 304 (+16) team tally as senior Abbie Pearce (Green, Ohio) and sophomore Jennifer David (Hudson, Ohio) led the way with a pair of 75 (+3) performances that ranked ninth on the players' leaderboard. Graduate transfer Ke'Asha Phillips (Owensboro, Ky.) and sophomore Jessica Hahn (Canton, Ohio) followed in 28^th place with 77 (+5) scores. As a team, the Zips carded six birdies with Pearce and Phillips posting two apiece, while David and Hahn each had one.

During the second 18-hole round, Akron registered a 305 (+17) as Pearce climbed five spots to fourth overall with a 74 (+2) score to lead the Zips. She enters the final round with a 149 (+5) ledger.

Junior Ivana Shah (Mumbai, India) followed with a 76 (+4) score and finished the day with a 157 (+13), while Phillips added another 77 (+7) and finished third in team scoring with a 154 (+10), 22^nd overall. David posted a second-best 153 (+9) total after a 78 (+6) second-round for 20^th overall. Hahn currently ranks 27^th on the leaderboard with a 155 (+11) total.

Akron junior Jacinta Pikunas (Youngstown, Ohio) recorded a 167 while competing as an individual.
