AKRON, Ohio - Miami senior P Courtney Vierstra pitched a perfect game to lift the RedHawks (22-6, 12-0 MAC) to an 8-0 decision past the University of Akron women's softball team in the Mid-American Conference series finale on Sunday, April 11 at Lee R. Jackson Field.

Vierstra registering 12 strikeouts for Miami in the victory.

Freshman P Olivia Stefanoni (Hudson, Ohio) and junior P Olivia Otani (Canton, Ohio) combined to strike out five Miami batters in the game for the Zips (3-23, 2-10 MAC).

Akron returns to action on Friday, April 16 as the Zips welcome Ball State to Lee R. Jackson Field for the start of a four-game series. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.
