Zips Announce Change in Football Leadership

Statement from University of Akron Director of Athletics Charles Guthrie on leadership change within the football program

AKRON, Ohio - The University of Akron Department of Athletics has decided to make a leadership change in its football program.

Effective immediately, Oscar Rodriguez, Jr., current associate head coach, will assume the role of interim head coach through the end of the season.

"We appreciate Coach Tom Arth's work on behalf of our student-athletes and coaches and we wish him well moving forward."

The University will launch a national search for a new head football coach immediately.
