AKRON, Ohio – Six University of Akron football players have been named to Phil Steele's 2020 preseason All-Mid-American Conference teams, the magazine announced on Monday.
Earning preseason first-team All-MAC was sophomore kick returner Michael Mathison (Covington, Ga.).
Named to the preseason second-team All-MAC was redshirt junior LB Bubba Arslanian (Aurora, Ohio).
Senior center Bryce Petersen (McKinleyville, Calif.) was a preseason third-team All-MAC honoree.
Senior defensive end Dylan Meeks (Orlando, Fla.), sophomore safety Randy Cochran, Jr. (Doraville, Ga.), and junior kick returner Jeremiah Knight (Jefferson, Ohio) were preseason fourth-team All-MAC honorees.
Under second-year head coach Tom Arth, Akron returns 42 letterwinners. UA opens the 2020 season with Youngstown State on Sept. 5 at InfoCision Stadium–Summa Field.
