What was the deciding factors(s) that brought you to UA?
I was hired as a graduate assistant by Dan Baily (former director), had a few offers for jobs but having the opportunity to grow under Coach Bailey was something I couldn't turn down.
 Â
How has your position changed over the years?
When I started, strength and conditioning coaches were mainly weight room coaches and only left to go to football practice. We all did football and then had our other responsibilities. Today's strength job has no boundaries. We obviously still do all aspects of strength, conditioning, speed, agility, but have evolved to do a lot of practice responsibilities to include but not limited to: warm ups, in practice return to play rehab, gps tracking … We also provide most of the nutrition education and monitoring in conjunction with our nutritionist.
Â
What are your current responsibilities?
I oversee all aspects of the strength and conditioning department and directly work with the men's basketball (since 2009) and men's soccer (since 2005) teams.
Â
What have you learned during your time on campus?
I have learned that you do not need to be at a Power 5 school to be around and train high-level individuals. I have learned that Akron has a fantastic reputation throughout the country and in some aspects the world (as crazy as that sounds).
Â
Do you have a favorite memory to share?
As a strength coach, I have had the opportunity to be part of success of many different programs: MAC football championship in 2005, MAC titles in 2009, 2011, 2013, arguably the best four-year span in women's basketball history [2011-14], and the countless titles in men's soccer, but my favorite moment is definitely Men's Soccer National Championship in 2010.
