Akron Athletics Launches New Mobile App

AKRON, Ohio – University of Akron athletics has teamed up with Sidearm Sports to launch a new app for the Zips, the department announced Wednesday.
The app is free to fans and can be downloaded at both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store for your mobile devices.
To access the new app, click on either of the links above for your respective device or search "Akron Zips" in your device's app store. The app is fully integrated with GoZips.com and content from the website will appear on the app in a mobile form.
In addition, UA is introducing The Zippy Wallet which features contests and promotional offers from our ticket office, online retail partners, and some great deals from our corporate partners. The Zippy Wallet is exclusive to those with an account for the app.
Fans are able to create free accounts, allowing them to receive push notifications about breaking news, schedule announcements and updates, gameday information, Zippy Wallet additions, and much more for each athletics team they wish follow.
The app also allows direct access to all of our videos and social media accounts. In the coming months, interactive features including geo-fencing will be utilized for unique promotions when the Zips get back on the playing surface.
