Abunaw and Foster Set to Compete at USATF U-20 Outdoor Championships

AKRON, Ohio – University of Akron freshmen Victoria Abunaw (Maumee, Ohio) and Sara Foster (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio) have been selected to compete at the USA Track and Field Outdoor Under-20 Championships to be held at the Ansin Sports Complex in Miramar, Fla., this weekend, June 21-23.
Abunaw will take part in the women's 100-meter hurdles on Sunday at 4:39 p.m., while Foster is slated to compete in the women's 400-meter hurdles on Saturday at 4:52 p.m., as well as the women's heptathlon on Saturday and Sunday, beginning with the 100-meter hurdles at 3:32 p.m.
Abunaw competed in eight meets for the Zips during the outdoor campaign, including placing fifth in the women's 100-meter hurdles at the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championships on May 11 with a career-best time of 13.77.
Foster was named the Women's Track Freshman of the Year at the MAC Championships after capturing the women's heptathlon title on the strength of a career-best seven-event cumulative score of 4,808. Additionally, she registered a third-place finish in the women's 400-meter hurdles with a career-best time of 59.69. On the season, she competed in nine meets for the Zips.
