AKRON, Ohio– Redshirt sophomore Sydney Jascoe (Commerce, Mich.) was named one of the nation's top sophomores by Fast Pitch News.
The FPN mentioned 62 sophomores from all across the NCAA that included Jascoe and three other sophomore sluggers from around the Mid-American Conference.
Jascoe, one of the top sluggers in the Zips starting lineup while seeing time at catcher and third base, is hitting .379/.667/.467 in her second season of competition. Jascoe owns team-highs in hits (33), doubles (7), home runs (6), RBI (17), total bases (58), slugging percentage, and at-bats (87).
The Zips catcher/third baseman was named the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week after the first week of play in the 2019 season, has nine multi-hit games, six multi-RBI contests, and recorded a team-best eight-game hitting streak.
In situational hitting, Jascoe owns a .400 average with runners on base, .556 average as the leadoff hitter, is hitting .417 with runners in scoring position, has tallied a .487 average when successfully advancing runners, and had seven RBI with two outs in an inning.
