Akron Football to Participate in Akron’s Draft Day Experience on Saturday

AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron football will participate in the City of Akron's celebration of the Draft Day Experience on Saturday, April 27, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Lock 3 (200 South Main Street).
The Zips will join City officials in announcing a 2019 NFL Draft pick on Day 3 live during the national telecast as a part of the NFL's 13 original cities.
Akron's head coach Tom Arth and Director of Athletics Larry Williams, both former NFL players, are slated to participate.
At Lock 3, fans will be treated to big screen television coverage as well as games, inflatables, and food trucks. The event is FREE.
During its annual Pro Timing Day in March, UA had 16 former players participate in skills tests for scouts from all 32 NFL teams. Their bios are attached.
The 2019 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 25, and runs through Saturday, April 27, live from Nashville, Tenn. The three-day Draft will be televised live by ESPN/ABC as well as Fox/NFL Network.
Returning 51 letterwinners, Akron opens the 2019 season at Illinois on August 31. The home opener is slated for Sept. 7 against UAB.
Season ticket plans—which include a ticket to all six home games as well as a parking pass—can be purchased now, starting at only $60 each. Renewals (for current season ticket holders) and new seats are now available for purchase by calling or texting 888-99-AKRON (25766) or visiting The C.P. and Cornelia S. Chima Athletics Ticket Office at InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field (located at 375 E. Exchange Street, near Gate 1 at the southwest corner of the venue, at the corner of E. Exchange and S. Union streets) during business hours (Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
