Akron Ranks No. 4 in Capital One Men’s Standings

Capital One Standings
CHARLOTTE – Following fall competition, University of Akron Athletics is ranked fourth nationally in the 2018-19 Capital One Cup men's standings.
The Zips earned 36 points toward the Capital One Cup due to their stellar season in soccer.
UA men's soccer competed in its sixth College Cup in 2018, advanced to the national championship game, won its 15th Mid-American Conference championship, and finished nationally ranked at No. 2.
Akron Athletics won back-to-back Reese Trophies (2015-16 and 2016-17) as the top men's athletics program in the Mid-American Conference.
The Capital One Cup is an NCAA athletics award honoring the top Division I men's and women's college athletics program in the country. With strong performances in the remaining winter and spring sports, Akron has the opportunity to bring home the Capital One Cup and $200,000 in scholarship funds to the athletics department and be honored at The ESPYS in July.
